Ancient natural medicine, herbal, vials and scale on wooden background

I’ve suffered from headaches and migraines for as long as I can recall. My father has told me that when I was a baby learning how to speak, among the first things I learned how to say was that my head hurt. I grew up taking quite considerable amounts of drugst against the pain. While I really dislike placing drugs in my body, when it comes to extreme pain, I find myself turning to whatever brings relief.

Headaches and Migraine

The issue with headaches and migraines is it is not easy to identify why they happen. Sometimes, it’s clear; your head is stuffy from sinus pressure or you fell and bumped your head pretty hard. But the majority of the time, they just creep up on you over a couple of hours until you finally get to the point where any sort of movement, sound, or glowing light feels like a hammer beating against your head.

The years of taking pain relievers have caused me to liver damage. I’m not blaming them, since I’ve chosen on several occasions to put them in my own body, and I’m sure will do this from the agony of the moment. They help, the majority of the time, to alleviate the pain, and sometimes we simply have to get to another moment so as to proceed.

But they don’t necessarily help. Truth be told, I have not found anything, natural or drugs, that entirely removes my migraines each and every time. However, I’ve found that by having an arsenal of different potions, one of them is bound to work for any sort of headache I have been having at this time. Maybe one of these can help you.

Peppermint Oil!

Peppermint oil #1

The easiest is to simply put a few drops in the palm of your hands, cup it on your nose and mouth, and breath in deeply several times. This aids the stuffiness.

Peppermint oil #2

I generally use the peppermint oil directly to my scalp, right where the pain is. Wherever it hurts the most is where I use it. But I will place some in the palm of my hand and dab a bit on my fingertip to use to over my eyebrows, behind my ears from the mandible, and all over my neck.

Be careful to not get it into your eyes or use that dabbing finger to rub your eyes afterwards. Should you get some in, simply get a small amount of vegetable oil and lightly apply it to the burning region. It will stop the burning nearly immediately.

Peppermint oil #3

I know people who’ve gotten rid of a headache by one drop of peppermint oil on the nape of their neck. It has not worked for me, but I’ve met too many people it’s worked for to be skeptical.

Peppermint oil #4

Mix a drop of peppermint oil in with your shampoo and then again on your conditioner. The lather enables the oil to spread easily over your whole head. The tingle feels really good I don’t need to wash it out. This feels nice even if you don’t have a hassle, but if you do, it seems just heavenly.

Peppermint oil #5

Inhale itrub on tip of nose, breathe deeply. Apply neat to temples and forehead, cheekbones, across bridge of nose, and around ears.

Roman chamomile oil

Apply to all the points of the neck and face, basically wherever you are feeling sinus pressure. This hasn’t helped me, personally, but we are all made differently.

Low Blood Sugar

Check your blood glucose. If it’s between 60 and 70, it is possible to create a mild headache. If it’s between 50 and 60, you’re more likely to have a full blown headache, feel weak, tired, and irritable. My very best friend gets a headache whenever her blood sugar drops. As far as I’m concerned, she’s lucky, because when she eats, her headache goes away.

Migraines and Liver

Using the concept that migraines are associated with the liver, target the liver & head regions in your feet. Apply a few drops of Valor essential oil around your feet, paying particular attention to the rear of the big feet, massaging it in hard.

The liver stage is on the right foot. If you discover the middle of your foot (not including feet ) and move out towards the area you step on, that is where you rub. Rub with a couple of drops of olive oil.

Chemical headache

Toxins from chemicals, such as paint fumes, can result in a headache. Breathing in a essential oil, such as peppermint oil, can help restore balance. Diffusing the oil is very effective here.

Dilated Blood Vessels

Caffeine constricts the blood vessels. Sometimes just drinking some coffee or Coke can help a migraine.

Other things to try:

      • Fresh wheatgrass juice
      • Fresh celery juice
      • Thieves essential oil blend
      • Apply 1 drop to your thumb and press the roof of your mouth

Lavender oil & peppermint oil

Apply a drop of lavender oil into your temples and neck. Layer peppermint oil in addition to the lavender. Sometimes the combination is more powerful than an individual.

Grapefruit oil

By itself, it does nothing for me. However, when I layer it on top of other oils, it intensifies the effect of the other oils.
