When I looked at the list of prohibited foods in my Candida diet I got in a tiny flap. My apprehension did not ease when I saw examples of Candida diet recipes like I could see my time and money being whittled away on fancy ingredients and hard cooking procedures.

Healthy choices

Suddenly my usual way of throwing together a huge lasagna or putting on a huge roast complete with huge quantities of starchy vegetables has been thrown out the window.

I actually found that searching down Candida diet recipes was very simple, but finding ones which were simple enough to hold my attention and that were pertinent to point one – you know – the point where pretty much everything is prohibited – was really tricky.

Dieta para la cándida

The best that many Candida diet recipes can perform were elaborate pumpkin soups, leek and broccoli casserole or celery and cottage cheese bites.

So I had a look at what we had been permitted and put together a very simple eating plan – make it simple, but change the taste with each serving. Once you get to know your tastes it’s awesome how much flavor variety you can have and sugar, what sugar?

Recipes for Breakfast

    • Either scrambled eggs (made with water rather than milk) to change the flavor try adding chopped parsley or peppers to the mix.
    • Rolled oat porridge made with water and topped with organic yogurt and cinnamon. If you wish to be somewhat daring, add some grated berries or apple into the mix.

Recipes for Lunch/Dinner

These Candida diet recipes are synonymous; make a huge batch of both and keep them in the refrigerator. What you do not have for lunch have for dinner and visa verse.

Ensalada

Among the simplest and fastest Candida diet recipes.

    • Just tear up a lettuce, slice an avocado, cut up a few peppers and a cucumber and throw them all together.
    • Each time you serve them up change the flavor by adding a different meat into the mixture and seasoning accordingly. For instance; once I have a chicken salad, I like to top the salad with cottage cheese and drizzle lemon juice over the whole lot. For tuna I typically just use lemon juice and for lamb I do a yogurt dressing.

Stir Fry

    • Stir fry your broccoli, cauliflower, celery and cebolla as normal, throw in some crushed garlic and ginger and add a couple of forms of shredded leafy greens – such as spinach, bok choy, silver beet or cabbage.
    • Like the salad, alter seasonings based on the meat which you add, or consume it – yum!

Recipes for Dessert

Desserts are super difficult during phase one – so if you absolutely have to have dessert, but do not need to go to a lot of effort and cost, You’re really limited to.

Natural unsweetened yogurt with; cinnamon or allspice; berries; raw rolled oats or other soft whole grains.

Dessert idea:

    • Place a few rolled oats, a couple of amaranth, a few pinches of cinnamon and a few pinches of allspice into a bag and shake until combined.
    • Sprinkle this over your tomatoes and yogurt.
    • For an extra special sneaky treat you could also add a few finger-fulls of dried berries.

Recipes for Snacks

Grab a large rice wafer and top with your choice of; Cottage cheese and cinnamon or chives, Tuna or Hummus.

(If you can find or create bread which meets all of the rules for phase one, then these toppings can also be absolutely divine on toast!)

Other snack ideas

    • Use hummus, cottage cheese and yogurt as dips for little rice crackers and raw vegetables.
    • Keep boiled eggs in the refrigerator and grab one when hunger hits.
    • A couple of nuts and seeds blended together will do wonders for any nagging hunger pangs or munchies.
