For many people, summer is a very welcome treat. But for those who have oily skin, summer can be quite disastrous indeed! Anyone with oily skin understands that alongside the warmth comes the increased tendency of the skin to produce more oil. This, in turn, adds that undesirable glow in your cheeks and forehead.

Reasons For Oily Skin

There are various factors, which contribute to the development of oily skin. Heredity is one. If your father or mother has oily skin, there’s a great likelihood you will have it, too! Sadly, it does run in the family.

Hormones may also be blamed for this illness. Do you notice how many adolescents and young people under the age of 20 have that strange shine in their faces? And do you know that there are a whole lot of women who notice their faces become oily when they’re pregnant, are going to have their monthly periods or during menopause? All those hormonal changes happening at once in their bodies cause this unpleasant change.

Fortunately, there are a variety of ways for you to maintain your fatty skin from ruining your day.

Proven techniques guaranteed to keep facial oil in check

      • Keep your skin clean constantly. When your skin is unbearably oily, it doesn’t only look dirty. It feels dirty! To avoid this, keep it clean at all times by washing your face at least twice per day using glycerin soap. Additionally, it will be helpful if you can dab some clear cool water in your face many times a day to get rid of excess oil.
      • Seek support from astringents. To control oily skin, then wipe the fatty parts of your face using a suitable astringent between washings. Or for a cheaper yet equally effective alternative, consider using rubbing alcohol or a mixture of alcohol and acetone rather than perfumed astringents. You could even use pre-moistened alcohol wipes (available in the cosmetic department of most stores) to perform the job. They make great travel companions especially when you’re constantly on the move!
      • Wipe it up! Forgot to bring your alcohol wipes? No problem. You can use plain old tissue paper or any special oil-absorbing tissues to wipe away the oil.
      • Mist it! Cleansing and wiping all day might eventually lead to over-drying. You would not want that, do you? To stop this from occurring, use facial mists! Facial mists are especially prepared mineral water packed with valuable vitamins and herbs. They can be quite great in adding moisture to your skin without needing to add chemicals or oil.
      • Say no to lashes. Placing lashes on oily skin clog up the pores and may eventually cause acne. So be kind to your skin. Just say no to lashes.
      • Scrub it! Scrubs are excellent in removing excess oil in the skin. However, if you’ve got facial acne, you will need to skip this part as it can only aggravate the problem.
      • Masque it! Facial masques can be used to lower your skin’s oiliness. You may try using clay masques or create your own masque by mixing Fuller’s earth that has a little bit of water (just add sufficient water to reach a pasty texture). Apply the masque to your face with an upward motion and depart on to dry for around 20 minutes. Rinse with cool water and pat dry.
      • Show off your natural beauty. As much as you can, go without makeup and allow the world see you in your natural splendor! Or in the event you should wear makeup, then go for ones that are smoky.
      • Try some cabinet magic! Common place cabinet essentials can prove to be very helpful in relieving your face’s oiliness. Freshly squeezed cucumber juice and aloe vera gel are both proven successful in combating oiliness when used as facial masques. Fenugreek seeds and red gram seeds may both be ground and used as effective facial scrubs. In actuality, there’s a good deal more natural ingredients which may be utilised in countering the excess oiliness of your skin!
